Back to work
So here we are again, for we are always together, you and I.
Vacation is done. Work is begun again—though my week ends this afternoon. Despite the fact that I’ve only worked a short week (even by my, four-day-week standards), I am pooched.
My volunteer commitment is weighing in at at least a dozen hours each week and shows no sign of lessening until maybe September or October.
My day job may be increasing from 24 to 32 hours a week, which is good news, but in my tired state (yes I’m a wimp) I’m also semi-disappointed…but it’s a small semi.
And tutoring is only a month away—in light of the aforementioned increase in day job hours I am beginning to regret having agreed to it so far in advance.
So woe is me, right? So much luck and privilege to whine about, how awful.
I know I promised an additional post on growing up, etc., but folks this isn’t it. In fact “this” is almost over for the time being as, 100+ words in, I still don’t have a topic in mind.
I also haven’t been feeling too hot these past few days (probably just back-from-vacation routine adjustment [again, woe is me]), so it’s hard to get excited about writing this. I really just need to slink by, check the box, and slough into next week with hopes that I will be better renewed and back in the swing of things.
I know, aside from all the whining, this post doesn’t even sound like me, but alas as I mentioned, I am pooched.
In parting, here are a few things that are keeping me going even though all I want to do is curl up and sleep:
1. seeing some gal pals tonight and eating tasty Ethiopian food
2. spending the weekend in Ottawa with my babe, lounging in a b&b, walking, drinking, eating
3. the epic amount of fun weekends still awaiting me in August and September
